I developed and facilitated the course structure of a series of Master classes in collaboration with Oculi in 2014. The Master Classes were conducted over four months culminating in an exhibition of project work at 10x8 gallery in Sydney. I coordinated 5 other member teachers as well as guest speakers over four months. Each day, I was onsite to ensure smooth running and transition. The unique approach of the multi-month Master Classes allowed students to develop a body of work over a period of time. Three photographers spent time with the students each month, exposing them to their personal practice and approach whilst providing guidance and mentorship to the students. The students received a comprehensive overview of how to create, refine and promote long-form documentary stories, as well as the common pitfalls working photographers encounter when developing personal work. The students worked on a series over the course of four months and received feedback and new perspectives over the course.
